Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me,
or seen in me – put into practice.  And the God of peace will be with you.

What Is Christian Coaching?

Coaching is a creative partnership between the client and coach to help you move intentionally from where you are to where God wants you to be.  Through this process, you will explore all your possibilities and aim for your ideal future.  All life coaching is about working together to make changes, but Christian coaching has the advantage of having a third partner in the process – the Holy Spirit.  With that all-important guidance, we explore how God made us with all our strengths, passions, weaknesses, and values.  By His leading, you can discover how to use your abilities in your life’s journey, recognizing that true fulfillment comes when we discern and live in accordance with God’s plan for our lives.

Coaching is beneficial for all areas of life, both spiritual and physical, and you set the agenda based on your needs and aspirations. With a life coach you reach your goals with the help of accountability, encouragement, new perspectives and commitment to growth.  Christian coaches do not give advice but discover God-given resources by asking solution-focused questions.

One-On-One Coaching
Coaching is done by phone in the privacy of your home or office at an agreed upon day and time.  Although there is no minimum requirement of sessions, a reasonable time frame together is at least 3 to 6 months, and ideally we meet 3 times a month.  There is no contract to sign, and you can terminate the relationship at anytime.

Between sessions, your growth will depend on the “homework” that we decide will be helpful.  For example, if you are training for a marathon, I may ask you to keep a log of the time you run.  If you are working on your spiritual gifts, I may ask you to read a certain book and write down your thoughts, or keep a journal as you pray.  Your work will have a definite purpose and we will assign it based on your specific goals.

Group Coaching
Group coaching consists of 3 or more participants.  I experienced the dynamics of groups when I was a personal trainer. When highly motivated people come together for a common purpose, exciting things can happen!  Group coaching also is cost effective and time efficient.

Speaking Opportunities
I am available to speak on topics that are my passion or yours, such as:
Discovering God’s design for your life
Discerning the life balance that God wants for you
Determining God’s plan for your health and wellness

Are You ready?
The purpose of Christian coaching is to get you from where you are now to where God wants you to be.  Are you ready to grow and change?  Coaching is most effective when you desire true growth, are open to learning, want to explore new ideas for the future, and are committed to making necessary changes in your attitudes, assumptions and behaviors.  Most importantly, are you open to God’s leading in this process?

To start this journey, please contact me at sonia@distinctlychristiancoaching.com to set up your free discovery call.  Together we will work in a partnership that will assess where you are in the present and clarify your goals for the future.  We’ll look at your spiritual gifts, your values, your abilities, and your hopes for today as well as tomorrow.  As you set your goals, coaching will help keep you focused and accountable for reaching them.  With our eyes set upon what God wants for your life, we can turn your possibilities into reality.
